From idea to design

Which ideas, wishes and occasions lead to the purchase of a promotional umbrella? Is it intended for employees, customers or business partners? What is the budget? Many considerations and requirements are already settled by the time customers come to us and the purchase of a printed promotional umbrella takes shape.

The example of Kabelmanufaktur Schloms shows how the collaboration between the customer and the Schirmmacher team can unfold:

1. Define wishes

The customer approached us with their company logo and the graphic elements of their corporate identity. The quantity of around 150 umbrellas limited the choice to "The Quick Umbrella" with predefined print areas; the faster delivery time was also a factor. The customer was looking for an umbrella with an aluminium look that matches Kabelmanufaktur Schloms.

2. Prepare a quote

We recommended several models in the shortlist. At the same time, our customer received quotes with one or two printed segments, on different models for comparison.

In the end, the choice fell on the GästeAlu (stick umbrella XL): aluminium look with fibreglass ribs, a plastic handle colour-matched to the canopy, and a printable handle plate.

3. Create the design

After several drafts and options, our customer gave approval for this print:

  • Canopy in grey, two segments printed in white
  • Closure strap in grey with logo and lettering printed in white
  • Handle plate printed in the original logo colour, red
