The PuTuP umbrella out and about in Milan

Our company outing took us to Milan. It was the 1st of May and, statistically, the odds were good that we would spend a sunny, spring-like day in this fascinating city. But how could it have turned out any differently for us umbrella makers? For weeks it hadn't rained as much in a single day as it did on that one. Well equipped, we were therefore able to put our innovative PuTup umbrella to the test for a whole day. Our verdict: a really fun day, a wonderful and varied city, and plenty of attention for the PuTup umbrella are what stay with us.

The right kind of wrong umbrella

PuTup turns the conventional umbrella on its head and offers many advantages as a result. The umbrella closes the wrong way round, so that the canopy stays dry on the outside when it is closed. It needs little room to open and close, which makes it especially handy when getting into a car, for example. It is also very practical that this umbrella can stand up on its own even when closed.

Umbrellas of this type are also known as a “reverse umbrella”. They were first used back in 2016. PuTup is a further development of that very first generation. It comes with useful new features such as the C-handle for more freedom of movement, the reflective band for added safety and the handy shoulder bag. The very stylish range comes in 6 different colours. PuTup has been available in specialist shops and online since May 2017.
