How the waterSAVE cover material is made
When textiles are dyed, they are normally only coloured after the fabric has been finished as a whole. This requires a lot of water, chemicals and energy. And then the water contaminated by the colour pigments has to be laboriously recycled or purified. In short, a real waste of resources!
And this is precisely where the waterSAVE method comes in. Instead of using vast quantities of water or environmentally harmful substances, a highly specialised granulate made from recycled plastic waste is used.
1.) Recycled granulate is collected in the silo.
2.) Selected dry dye is added to a second silo.
3.) The recycled granulate is mixed with the dry dye in a mixing device to form a powder.
4.) The mixture is fed into a heated silo.
5.) The powder becomes a molten mass ...
6.) ... and is pressed into threads through a spinneret.
7.) These threads are then cooled ...
8.) ... and finally spun into yarn. The environmentally manufactured yarn can now be processed into the waterSAVE® cover material.

By using so-called waterSAVE cover material, the company is able to offer products that are not only practical for everyday use, but also make a significant contribution towards reducing energy consumption and emissions.
Normally, textiles are only processed as a whole after the fabric has been finished - this requires a lot of water, chemicals and energy. The waterSAVE method, on the other hand, uses a special granulate made from recycled plastic waste.
Sustainable umbrellas in your desired colour
Another major difference is the depth of the dyeing. This is because in the resource-saving variant described here, the fibres themselves are dyed in depth, i.e. before processing; as opposed to normal dyeing, where the colour pigments are limited purely to the surface of the fabric due to the previous weaving.
This allows waterSAVE products to shine not only on an environmentally conscious level, but also with their appearance. From a bright lime colour to a radiant red and a vibrant blue, there is certainly a suitable shade for everyone.
