Generally speaking, the following guideline for crowd density at events can be applied in the event industry:
- For standing guests, two people per square metre are assumed, which equates to 0.5 to 0.75 m² per person.
- For seated guests, a standard beer bench set with eight people per set is assumed. A beer bench set is allocated approximately 4 m² of space.
